Yeah Me!

Well, last weekend I did my holiday baking for distubution to the masses. I made 8 kinds of cookies and seperated them all mostly equally onto 8 different plates. They were a pretty big hit. I love finding new recipes that I have never made before and trying them out on the unsuspecting. I did actually eat three cookies this year. In no particular order I made: Date-filled sandwiches, Fudge-filled Envelopes, Calypso Cups, Lemon-Cranberry Sandwiches, Chocolate Star Gingersnaps, Eggnog Snickerdoodles, Cherry Peanut Butter Balls, and Apple Drop Cookies.

Winter is Here!

Winter is here for now. Yeah! Excecpt for the horrible driving conditions I rather like winter.

So I decided to make winter cupcakes. These are Red Velvet Cupcakes with White Chocolate Mint Creamy Frosting with White Chocolate shavings on top. I meant to pick up some red star mints to crush on top, but I forgot.

Also today we brought the cats to the vet for there check-up and shots and Serenity got to go a day early to see if her bladder infections were back. She doesn't have one which means her peeing on the couchs standing up had become a behavoral problem. I order to retrain her she is going to need to be secluded for the next 6-8 weeks all by herself. Poor kitty.

Nothingness

I feel the need to post about nothing. There is nothing going on in my life that feels worth blogging about. I have not moved acrossed the country, I have not gotten a new job, I am not Dan, I got no kids. I mean all I have got going for me are the cats but if all I blogged about was them people might think I was crazy or some thing. Well Matt's around alot more now too, but he has his own blog. Even if it is now just for stick figures. We have big selling some collectibles on ebay, shocking I know. Unless I am missing something, that is about all that is going on.

Target Parties

Well, we had Tiffin's last Target party on Saturday. Which was fun, but as all Target parties only about half of the people we actually expected to come to the party, came to the party. And that's only like a tenth of the people that told him they would be coming. Those Target people are not very reliable at all. Even for free food. I bet if we had more free alcohol, more would have shown, but it gets expensive. Still fun. There was more food than that too, mini-corn dogs and such. We have so much left over.

Fall

I love fall. The changing weather, fires in the woodstove, warm kitties in the sunshine, all great things. It really makes me want to bake. Last week I made Raisin Spice Cookies (one of my personal favorites) and tonight I am making Spiderweb Pumpkin Cheesecake for Halloween tomorrow. Which also means that I will be making somthing else with pumpkin in it within the week to use up the rest of the can of pumpkin, not counting the 4 pumpkin pies that I am making for the Christmas party that I have on Saturday.

Harvey the Wonder Hamster

Tiffin and I were at Village Inn with St. Mary's and Stemshul before they left and I was told they had never heard Weird Al's song Harvey the Wonder Hamster, which is one of my favorite Weird Al songs. So here it is.

That's life

Well, I really haven't had much of importance going on in my life so I haven't felt the need to post, though I feel bad about that. With people moving away and all the other issues in our life right now it would be nice to have some good news to share, but I don't. That's life though.

I ment to take some pictures of some really cool cupcakes that I made the other day but I forgot. I think I may post pictures of all the cupcakes and such that I make so that all you losers that keep moving away can wish you were here. Speaking of which, I can bring something to the going away party if there is a need/desire. I take suggestions, if something specific is wanted.

Castles are so cool

I know that we won't be able to do this but I can daydream about it. I found the absolutly coolest place to have as our bed and breakfast. If Tiffin and I could we would buy it today but we can't. Look at this.

Isn't that the coolest house you have ever seen? That is the best picture available for now but I asked for more. I don't think it is being used as a bed and breakfast currently but it was just built in 2003 and is being marketed as a potential B & B. If it is still around when Tiffin and I are ready we will do whatever possible to buy it. Including moving to Washington, where this is located.

Crocs Rock!

I can't believe that Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, died yesterday. I kinda thought he would be around forever. I had planned on visiting Australia one day and had thought he would still be there teasing the crocodiles and just hanging around. At least he died doing what he loved.

Damn Cupcakes

Ever since stemshul mentioned at crazymom and shedu's party 'Hey, you didn't bring any cupcakes you had laying around, did you?' All I've wanted to do is make some stupid cupcakes. But I am missing a couple of ingrediants and never remember to stop at the store on my way home from work, and I don't care enough to miss my T.V. shows to run out to the store later, at least until much later in the night when nothing good is on and I no longer have enough time to make them before I have to go to bed anyway. Damn cupcakes. I love making cupcakes. They are so fun.

Why is Pain So Funny?

Well, we are all going to miss katohater and his SLF now that they have returned to their real home. But camping was great fun and so was shedubeard's and crazymom's party.

Katohater and Tiffin chopping wood...together.

Nothing Really

Isn't it amazing how very little can be going on in ones life? Atleast that can be shared on a public blog. I am trying to talk Tiffin into taking in his sister's cat, Zipper. Though I am not trying very hard he is pretty dead set against it. I just feel bad for the poor cat. His sister keeps shipping it off to different places, since the cat no longer fits in with her life. She seems to be getting rid of practicly everything from her life from before she got married. Clean slate syndrome or something of the sort.

Wishful Thinking

I would love the ability to just up and move away right now, like Kato did and Ugly Kid will be. But only if i could buy a bed and breakfast (like the one pictured). Tiffin agrees with me about moving away. We don't have much keeping us here anymore other than a very large mortgage and Tiffin's friends (at least the ones not moving away). He has alot more reasons to stay than me. There is a good chance that when my dad sells the company Tiffin and I will have enough money to move North. The bed and breakfast that is for sale right now that I want probably won't be around when we are ready to buy though but I like to keep my eye on the market in Michigan anyway.

Maybe if I found more free stuff in the trash I could stick around longer.

Party Planning

Well I have convinced myself to have both the sangria and the "jungle" "juice" at our party this Saturday. So whoever would like to participate in the "jungle" "juice" experiance can bring some alcohol, mixer, and/or fruit to throw into the mix. I found this picture labeled as 'no pants punch - you lose your pants in two drinks'. I think that might be the best name for the punch so far.

In other party news I ended up telling the dumb blonde about it, but she is not allowed to drink and if she shows up and anyone sees her with alcohol or a cigeratte, feel free to give her a really hard time about it.

It's almost party time!!

Sigh

So...I started a new diet this week. *Sigh*

We can't all eat whatever we want and not gain an ounce like a certain tall red head we all know. Genetics can suck sometimes. I was told by my dad that I would be fighting my genetics for the rest of my life at the age of 13 or so. I just love food so much most days. The whole excersize thing sucks too.

I am going to ignore the whole diet thing at certain time though, like Father's day lunch and our big party next Saturday. What's the point of having a party if you can't enjoy all the great food and drink.

Speaking of drink... ikyam still wants a trash can or "jungle" "juice" at Tiffin and my party. Does everyone else want to? Cause I was thinking I would either to that or sangria. Opinions would be great.

What's up Pussy Cat?

So, poor Serenity has a bladder infection. Poor kitty! When I brought her back from the vet Murdock was being such a little basterd to her that I locked him the the bathroom for a little while to calm down. Tiffin laughed at me and told I had just put the cat in a time out. I hadn't even thought about it like that. Oh well.

Anyway, the Mario Kart Tournament was fun, Festival had great food and Papa Vino's birthday celebration for my brother's birthday was a good time as well.

Next up Tiffin and my's annual party. I keep finding these things I want to have for the party. To bad things cost money to have. I am still super excited. We are having the beer brats again and I will probably go wild at Sam's Club when it comes time to buy stuff, especially now that they have a liquor section.

Whatever

Some times blogging can just be annoying. Not much really happens to write about that is interesting and I don't want to do something stupid like movie reviews that nobody really cares about anyway. Though if I did we have 300+ movies here and that would keep me pretty busy.

Memorial Day was fun. We went to my parents on Sunday and raided the bar and had some good food and good fun. Apparently Monday they all got together and went tubing on the lake but forgot to invite Tiffin and me. My mom swears she did but neither Tiffin or I remember an invite. Oh well. We can't handle that much sun anyway. My parents have a great bar selection of premium liquors. They don't really drink it and they have money so Grey Goose and Captain Morgan Private Stock are regulars. My dad goes to Sam's Club and buys alot of beer, wine and liquor whenever he feels the need. It's great.

We paid off the truck last week and I am pretty sure that Tiffin will get into an accident as soon as I call and drop the insurance to PLPD, so I am a little concerned about that. The air conditioning in my car is not working, but otherwise life is good.

Looky What I Got!

Now I have 6 cats!!

No, not really. I am kitty sitting for my "friend" Jenni. She needed a place to keep them for a week. Her Aunt and Uncle changed their mind about letting them stay there with them. Jenni is staying there while she is in town. They are getting spayed and neutered on Wednesday and will be leaving us Saturday or Sunday.

But that means that for a week we are a 6 cat household and not a 4 cat household. I hope my cats take the change OK. The kittens are locked in the bathroom, but they still know there are other cats in the house. Serenity got to meet them when Jenni brought them in and she seems kinda OK with the whole thing. Elsie is freaking out and Murdock doesn't know what to think. Greta doesn't know they are here yet I don't think but I think she will be the most upset of the bunch.

Mother's Day

I thought I would take this time to think about Mother's Day. It is my favorite Hallmark holiday. As much as I love the mothers and grandmothers in my life, the best part is the Brunch. Every year now we go to the Watermark County Club Mother's Day Brunch and it is really, really good. They have a whole table set up just for desserts. This year they had a chocolate fountain along with the trays and trays of different desserts like cheesecakes, cakes, cookies, so on and so forth. There also was the breakfast food table with the omlete station where a cook will make an omlete made to order for you. Then there was the salad tables with pasta salads, shrimp cocktail, stawberry soup, cheese tray, and mixed greens salad. Other than the desserts the main entree tables were the best. There was wood fired pizza, sushi, a carving station, great mango chutney pork, spinich artichoke chicken, tuna, salmon and sides. I think there were more meats too. My nephew really enjoyed the kids table too with corn dogs and mac and cheese and other kids stuff.

Everybody always eats way to much, but that is half the fun.

Cats Video

Party Party

I am super excited for our party that we are have on 6/24. I want to plan the whole thing right now. The only thing that I don't want to do is clean the house. It shouldn't be to bad and maybe if I start now I'll be done in 6 weeks. I know it doesn't really work that way, especially with 4 cats and the changing seasons causing even more shedding than normal, but I can dream about only cleaning something once and it stays clean for a long time.

I have the menu almost completely planned out, things might change but the basics won't. I am still deciding if i should do a theme. Theme parties can get expensive though and we aren't exactly rich (just like everyone else :) ) . I sIn wants me to throw a luau with coconut shell bras and grass skirts. All I can think about is the money to buy all the cool stuff. I would definitely go overboard, there is just so much cool stuff out there. Tiffin would have a heart attack over the money. He probably already will just for the food and drink. Even though it will be BYOB I will still make sangria and maybe some of those bucket drinks that you can buy that all you need to do is add the liquor and freeze it. Those things are great.

Bloody Jello

Well, Tiffin and I just celebrated our 4th anniversary and I don't whether to think wow those years just flew or wow that was only four years. All in all it has been great though. We went to see Phantom of the Opera down in Kalamazoo as our special treat and it was a great performance. We kinda like the movie better (higher budget) but the musical was still very entertaining and we are very happy to have gone. Then we came back to GR and went to Outback a little while later and I got so pissed at the stupid little hostesses. There was four of them, all high schoolers, talking gossip about some dumb girl and her boyfriend they all know, using "like" every other word.

We were told it would be a 35-45 minute wait even though there were only four or five other parties ahead of us. Servers kept coming up telling the hostesses that they had free tables and the bus boy did to, but did they seat any one? NO. We were not the only ones getting upset either, practically the whole waiting area was pissed. You could see empty tables from the waiting area and all the hostesses did was gab away to each other. She finally sat us after 30 minutes and we walked by empty tables to get to where they were seating us. I almost talked to the manager about it, but i didn't.

On the plus side the food was great and they have a new drink menu that I got a really cool version of a cosmo from. It had orange and mango flavors to it. mmmmm. Also Tiffin's steak was as rare as I have ever seen a steak served in my entire life. It was quite thick and the middle jiggled like bloody jello when he cut into it because it was so rare.

Eye Eye Captain

Eye doctors used to be my favorite type of doctor to go to, but no more. Now I have to get that stupid pressure check every year no matter what (and I don't have any vision inssurance). They dilate your pupils and then hit you eyes with puffs of air. I practically jump out of my chair everytime the air hits my eye and they do it 3 times per eye.

So I leave the eye doctor but my pupils are still dilated and the sun decides to make an appearance for the first time all day and practically blinds me as I am driving home, even with sunglasses. So my eyes hurt even a little still today and I got the test done yesterday. Staring at this computer screen all day doesn't seem to help either just like when I was watching T.V. last night. So bright.

Geeks

I remember the days when geeks stood proudly behind their titles of "Biggest Geek I Know" and "King of Geeks". Where did those days go? My geeky brother apparently has a problem with being called my geeky brother, he used to be so proud of the title of "geek" and would even boast, in his own geeky way, that he was a geek.

I'll bet that getting married and having a kid changed his opinion on geeks, even though he was a geek when he met his wife and I am sorry to say he will always be somekind of a geek much to his daughters dismay (in a few years at least when she starts to realize what is going on in the world). It is just who he is. We all know he is a geek and accept that with the occasional groan and shake of the head.

There is nothing really wrong with being a geek. Look at Bill Gates, he is a really big geek(although a rich one) and he practically could rule the world. Computer geeks are actually sought after and there appeal to is women growing all the time.

He will probably be mad at me for writing this but to bad it is my blog and I can write what I want to. Besides I was told he never wants to read my blog ever again anyway even though he was only mentioned once before this. He has been tainted with the truth. I will just have to use his really name from now on when I blog about him (and I will).
