$$ Weekend

So we had a good weekend. We bought Rockband 2 for our Wii and have been having a ton of fun playing with it. I'm up to Medium for bass and sometimes for guitar. I am doing pretty good on Easy for drums and should move up to Medium, but the difficulty per song is so varied, it makes me nervous.

We also bought a new camera (finally). Just in time for out trip. We decided on a Nikon Coolpix S220. It's a pretty neat little camera. I wanted another step up but with all the money we will be spending on vacation and the fact we had just bought Rockband 2, this will work. It's got some really neat features. I am planning on taking lots of pictures on vacation to get the hang of it.

Last weekend we had got 6 new pine tree for the front, to replace the trees that had been torn down to the stupid and unneccesary road widening. 3 are looking pretty good but 3 are looking pretty sad. So I got the sprinkler out and sprinkled the heck out of the area and will have to continue to do so every day untill they are established. It almost feels like I'm doing yard work, good thing Matt's helping.

Also this weekend we finally got a new light fixture for the dining room. I having been looking to replace the original light fixture from the 70's since we bought this house and the one we liked at Lowes went on Clearance this week, so we got that too. It's not up yet, but should be soon.

Inspiring Version of Stand By Me

Playing for Change has a few songs out now, but this is my favorite. They record steet musicians from around the world and combine them onto one track. Pretty neat.

Surprising Results

I finally got my grade for the worst class I have ever taken and was pleasantly surprised that I got a decent grade. I had resigned myself to the fact that my teacher was an idiot and there was nothing I could do about it. Maybe she graded on a curve??

Also I made the best turkey on Monday. I thawed a whole bone-in, skin-on turkey breast and coated it with a little olive oil, alot of garlic, s & p, and some cumin and onion powder that I had made a paste out of and cooked it all day while I was at work in the slow cooker. It smelled so good when I got home from work. Then I shredded some of the meat, kinda like pulled pork texture, and made taco meat with it. Now there's a taco I can get into. mmmmm

We are currently planning on having our annual summer party on August 15. I hope that works for people, cause it works for us. :)

Still waiting for a new camera. Matt doesn't like my choices. :( 2 weeks till we leave for Maine.

A New High

Ever know that you really, really shouldn't step on the scale? I have officially gained back all the weight I had lost last year plus one pound, making it a new record high for me. I am not too happy with myself. I fell hard off the wagon when I got my wisdom teeth out, anything that sounded good that I was able to eat, I did. And that lasted for a few weeks, thoroughly breaking all the good habits I had in place. Anyway I am hoping to start fresh on Monday, not counting the fact that Monday is our wedding anniversary. We will probably go out next week Friday or Saturday to celebrate. We would go this weekend, but Matt has been pretty sick and I have a touch of something too. We will wait until we both feel 100% to gorge ourselves on the wonders that is the Melting Pot.
Also I gave Matt a list of camera's that I want. I would like a new one before we go to Maine. Yeah!
