2012 flew by. Getting a consistent second job really filled up a lot of my free time.
Looking back at 2012:
- The trip we took to DC was the most notable vacation of the year. There sure was a lot to see in DC. There is no possible way to see everything in one week. I still really enjoyed seeing all the monuments, museums and important places. I would definitely go back.
- I made Taste of Fantasy an LLC. That is the next step in making it a really company.
- My favorite bar closed. I still miss Jukes.
- We got a new cat, Thomas Thumb. He is a really rambunctious kitten that is super adorable. He does cause a bunch of trouble. He loves to chew on cords and chase the other cats around the house. Every time I hear an unexplained noise in the house I wonder what kind of trouble he has gotten himself into. Also, he has thumbs. :) He can actually pick things up off the floor.
Meeting my goals for last year did not go well. None of these things happened.
1. I want to learn at least 3 songs to be able to perform at an open mic.
2. Make a website for the cake business.
3. Get my "junk room" organized.
I have not hardly had any time to practice playing the guitar. I don't really want to pay the money I need to make a good website. I clean out parts of my "junk room" only to put more stuff back in, like a never ending cycle.
Looking forward to 2013:
There are some changes on the horizon. Regardless of what else might be coming, I will be changing my role at my full time job. I have officially been offered a promotion. Sometime before now and June, I will be a Sales Manager instead of an administrative assistant. It will be a lot more responsibility. Also my father will be retiring at the end of this year as well. Which means things will be changing at work in that respect as well.
My goals for this upcoming year:
1. Clean out my "junk room". I've already got a good chunk of it done. As long as I don't keep adding stuff to the room, this can happen.
2. Put more time into the cake business. I've got to keep up the momentum. Make a new cupcake at least once a month.
3. Get out more. I spend a lot of time at home when I am not working. I really enjoy going out to the local music scene. I need to do this more, regardless if I have to go by myself or not.
