Smiley

I actually like the song. I wish she would stop trying so hard to be controversial.

Time Turns

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. - Robert Jordan

I love that all the Wheel of Time books start with this saying. It ties them all together. I've been procrastinating on reading the last three books that were finished after Robert Jordan died. Once I read them, it will be over. The first book was published in 1990 and I have been reading them ever since. End of an era.

I've realized I have a hard time prioritizing my day when I have no plans. Time gets away from when when I am sitting comfortably in bed with a kitty or 2 or 3 or 4 :) This is the second weekend in a row that I do not have any pre-set plans like working. Maybe I'll read a book tomorrow.

March

I don't know what I want to post, but I didn't post in Feb and March is almost over as well. I have a lot of personal things happening, but I don't tend to post personal things on the Internet for all to see. Written word is easy to misinterpret and if people really want to know, they will ask; in person.

I didn't do so well on my 28 days of baking experiment. I got to 13. Almost half the month or about every other day. Not to bad considering how much I had going on in Feb. Next time, I need to pick a less busy month.

Thomas Thumb is adorable.

30 Days of Something

People doing 30 days of this, that, and other thing (or 28 days) is motivating. Maybe I should do XX days of baking. Pinterest has tons of neat ideas and I need to do something to get this baking thing going.

As a neat side note, Facebook had given me $50 in free ads when I got 100 fans on my cake page. I allocated $5 a day and got a bunch of new fans because of it. Yet another reason to bake and post.

January 2013

2012 flew by. Getting a consistent second job really filled up a lot of my free time.

Looking back at 2012:

- The trip we took to DC was the most notable vacation of the year. There sure was a lot to see in DC. There is no possible way to see everything in one week. I still really enjoyed seeing all the monuments, museums and important places. I would definitely go back.
- I made Taste of Fantasy an LLC. That is the next step in making it a really company.
- My favorite bar closed. I still miss Jukes.
- We got a new cat, Thomas Thumb. He is a really rambunctious kitten that is super adorable. He does cause a bunch of trouble. He loves to chew on cords and chase the other cats around the house. Every time I hear an unexplained noise in the house I wonder what kind of trouble he has gotten himself into. Also, he has thumbs. :) He can actually pick things up off the floor.

Meeting my goals for last year did not go well. None of these things happened.
1. I want to learn at least 3 songs to be able to perform at an open mic.
2. Make a website for the cake business.
3. Get my "junk room" organized.

I have not hardly had any time to practice playing the guitar. I don't really want to pay the money I need to make a good website. I clean out parts of my "junk room" only to put more stuff back in, like a never ending cycle.

Looking forward to 2013:

There are some changes on the horizon. Regardless of what else might be coming, I will be changing my role at my full time job. I have officially been offered a promotion. Sometime before now and June, I will be a Sales Manager instead of an administrative assistant. It will be a lot more responsibility. Also my father will be retiring at the end of this year as well. Which means things will be changing at work in that respect as well.

My goals for this upcoming year:
1. Clean out my "junk room". I've already got a good chunk of it done. As long as I don't keep adding stuff to the room, this can happen.
2. Put more time into the cake business. I've got to keep up the momentum. Make a new cupcake at least once a month.
3. Get out more. I spend a lot of time at home when I am not working. I really enjoy going out to the local music scene. I need to do this more, regardless if I have to go by myself or not.
